Washington, D.C. – Today, WifiForward released the following statement regarding the introduction of the Advancing American Wi-Fi Against Foreign Adversaries Act:
“Opening the full 6 GHz band to Wi-Fi has proved to be one of the first Trump Administration’s best spectrum policy decisions, helping address consumers’ increasing appetite for streaming video and connectivity at home, while providing critically important wireless capabilities for enterprises throughout the U.S. Now, with the introduction of the Advancing American Wi-Fi Against Foreign Adversaries Act, Congress is working to ensure our leaders will be able to advance and advocate for unlicensed Wi-Fi in the full 6 GHz band on the global stage, including at critical international forums, like WRC-27. At a moment when the People’s Republic of China and Chinese Communist Party are actively working against international harmonization with U.S. policy, we applaud Wi-Fi Caucus co-chairs, Representatives Bob Latta (R-OH-05) and Troy Carter (D-LA-02), for their leadership on this important issue.”
