Today, WifiForward celebrates World Wi-Fi Day 2018, a worldwide initiative organized by the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) that seeks to help bridge the digital divide and recognizes the importance of Wi-Fi in connecting people who are traditionally unconnected.
There are more than 4 billion people around the world with no access to the internet. Access to the internet is no longer a luxury, it’s a must have. It’s how we live, work and grow our prospects now.
World Wi-Fi Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the significant role Wi-Fi plays in cities and communities around the world by promoting new, exciting and innovative projects to help connect the unconnected.
World Wi-Fi Day is also a chance to encourage policymakers, as well as operators, service providers and technology vendors to come together to show the power of this technology to connect everyone, no matter where they live.
WifiForward is proud to celebrate World Wi-Fi Day, and applauds the hard work of WBA and its members in their continued and unwavering efforts to help connect the unconnected around the world.
